Day 5 Friday August 16

Will I be a Change Agent? 
Where will I start? 
What do I plan to do?



 What I learned throughout this week was different leadership skills through the seven C’s. I learned how you need to be committed to an idea or goal to change something whether it be something about yourself, your daily life, or something about the world. I am glad I was able to learn more leadership skills because I am going to need it later on in life no matter if it's in High School, College, or even a future job. I know I am going to be a leader somewhere so I might as well improve on being a leader before it gets serious. I am glad I was able to change as a person, because now I am more knowledgeable on what mistakes I was making when I was publicly speaking, such as saying a lot of “um”s and “and”s.

Throughout this course, I learned many things both about myself and about being a leader in today’s society. The main thing we went over in this course were the 7 C’s. These 7 C’s were demonstrated through different activities throughout the week. For example, the Bandana activity showed Controversy with Civility and the Johari Window represented Consciousness of Self. These 7 C’s have taught me very important lessons that I will be sure to use throughout my life. Overall, I have learned many important life lessons during this course, and would definitely recommend a friend for next year.

My 3 takeaways from the course include the presentation skills: I learned and incorporated hand gestures, eye contact, and tone; how to make S.M.A.R.T goals and why they are necessary, and most importantly, that I can make a difference through our social change project and global tree excercise.

These are the activities connected to the 7 C's that had the greatest impression on me:
The Johari Window showed consciousness of self, The Tree activity needed collaboration and common purpose. The bandanna activity required controversy with civility. When we had to talk about what we did at home the previous night I showed congruence by doing what I believed in, and showed citizenship because I helped my moms aunt held remove water from a flood in her house.

Out of all the skills we learned this week, I think the why how what golden circle is going to be the most important. I'm glad my parents signed me up for this course.

Getting to know each other and ourselves Today I learned more leadership, but instead of in a global and historical sense I learned about what kind of leader I am. I learned that I am an organized leader because I like order and I can separate right from wrong. Although my leadership personality has its flaws such as being “bossy”, “boring”, and “uptight”, I know how I can fix those flaws by bringing interesting ideas, trying to not be controlling, and to be more calm during stressful  situations. Day 3 Wednesday August 14

Half way there The activity I enjoyed today was the priority chart. In it we wrote what we did everyday on a chart and on a different paper wrote are priorities in life. We than calculated how much time we spend everyday for each priority. This helped me realize that I don't spend as much time as I should with my top priorities like my passions and my family. Neha Today we did a trust exercise which allowed us to share stories about each other. This built a trust with the others in the class and caused us to get closer to each other. We shared many different stories about ourselves and sometimes others in our life. I shared a story of one of my personality traits, being introverted, that might or might not be very present in my first impression. Day 1 Monday August 12

Our first day Today I participated in many interesting activities. My favorite of them all was the brand yourself activity. It was very helpful to visualize and share my goals. When I understood why I wanted to pursue my goal, I had a new sense of accomplishment and reason to fulfill that goal. If it is only internal, it is very easy to give up on it. However, if other people knwo about it, they will expect you and possibly help you, to complete your goals. This new kind of pressure may be very useful to make sure the goal is not only internalized but is also pursuable. This taught me a very important life lesson I will apply in the future. Rohan Today we did an activity where we ranked global problems by how severe the problem is.
